🌧️ About the Song
“Lord, I’m looking for ya, I can’t see you here…”
That’s how “RAIN ON ME” begins — a raw cry from the soul.
This song came from a deeply personal place. I’d been wrestling with self-worth, feeling stuck, and questioning where I fit in. It felt like I was walking through a desert — a place where nothing was moving forward, where everything around me felt dry. But in that stillness, I realized something: God is still present in the desert. He’s the rain that nourishes the parts of us we thought were gone.
“RAIN ON ME” is my prayer turned melody — a song about asking God to pour Himself out on me again, to refresh my spirit and renew my strength when life feels heavy. It’s about trusting that even in moments of scarcity, He is the source.
While I was writing this track in Barcelona, I was looking at images of Chile’s Atacama Desert — one of the driest places on earth. It hit me how sometimes our lives feel exactly like that… but when the rain does come, even the Atacama blooms. That thought stayed with me: the idea that rain, no matter how delayed, always brings life.
☀️ The Feel and Mood
Sonically, “RAIN ON ME” is a fusion of R&B soul and Latin warmth — smooth, spiritual, and earthy all at once. There’s an emotional honesty in the production that mirrors the vulnerability in the lyrics. You can feel the tension between drought and downpour — a kind of meditative groove that grows with hope as the song unfolds.
My vocals move between English and Spanish, not just as a stylistic choice, but as a reflection of where I was — mentally and spiritually. Barcelona’s Latin influence soaked into my sound naturally, adding a new layer of rhythm and intimacy. The delivery is soft yet powerful; pleading yet peaceful. You can hear both the ache of longing and the surrender to something greater.
💬 From JUM3E
“Growing up, I heard a lot of the typical happy-clappy church songs — and don’t get me wrong, they’re uplifting — but they never fully spoke to my reality. I couldn’t always be happy in the middle of scarcity. What I’m learning now is that joy isn’t denial. God is still present in the struggle. RAIN ON ME is that conversation — it’s me saying, ‘God, I need you. Come rain on me, on my mind, on my situation.’ And while I’m waiting, I’m staying right where the rain can fall.”
🌿 Final Reflection
“RAIN ON ME” isn’t just a song — it’s an atmosphere. It’s the sound of faith meeting vulnerability, of rhythm meeting reflection. It’s an invitation to let go, to open up, and to trust that even if it hasn’t rained yet… the clouds are gathering.
